A First War period German brooch constructed from a gilded cartridge, featuring a branch of oak leaves at its centre, engravings of the dates 14 and 16 on either side, the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 38 mm (w) x 6 mm (h), with a black enamelled Iron Cross suspended below, measures 8 cm (w) x 8 mm (h), and in overall near extremely fine condition.
